As Literary
Agents for many years we have received thousands of
speculative submissions. Given the ratio of produced to
published work we, like all other agents operating in this
field, found that 98% of submissions were not ready for
publication. Providing free assessments to writers was no
longer an economically viable proposition, and we were left
with two options: to return submissions that did not make the
grade with a brief comment and leave matters thus, or to
additionally offer a consultancy and advisory service on a
fee paying basis for those who are interested. This is what
we have now elected to do. |
